Mr. Tathagata Roy is currently working as Principal Project Scientist at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He was an 'Early-Doc Fellow' at IIT Delhi since December, 2020. He was a graduate student researcher working on his doctoral studies at IIT Delhi since July, 2015. He has also worked as a 'Visiting Foreign Researcher' at Toyohashi University of Technology (TUT), Japan from April, 2019 to March, 2020 as a part of his doctoral study (Ph.D.). His major topic of research is 'Multi-Hazard Assessment of Structures under Earthquake, Wind, Blast, and Fire', where he developed frameworks for assessment of structures prone to multiple hazards during design life. He has particularly investigated to understand the failure probability of the structures under multiple hazards using various stochastic techniques. He has completed his Master of Technology (M.Tech.) from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee on 2014 with majors in Earthquake Engineering, especially in Seismic Vulnerability Assessment of Structures. He completed his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala on 2011 with First Class Distinction having majors in Civil Engineering.

Tathagata has 1 year of industrial experience where he worked with Lafarge Aggregates and Concrete Industries Pvt. Ltd. as a Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET). His main responsibility was mainly to maintain the quality and production rate of concrete in the civil construction sites. Moreover, he has a teaching experience of 1 year after his M.Tech. where he taught different courses of structural engineering including structural dynamics and earthquake engineering at the undergraduate level, as well as conducted lectures as a teaching assistant (TA) at IIT Delhi during his doctoral research where he undertook different classes and laboratories at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Apart from conducting research, Tathagata has extreme passion for cricket and football and spends most of the time in enjoying these sports. Tathagata is passionate about his research and plans to continue to do the same. Anyone interested in this research area(s) may contact the person through e-mail for collaborative research.
